Secure Console Servers
For Information Technology (IT) professionals looking for a more effective way to monitor and manage servers and networking equipment, console management provides secure and reliable remote access, a valuable tool to help maximize system uptime and minimize operating costs.
Console management starts with a Console Server™, which leverages the console or serial port built into most equipment, to provide centralized remote access. More than just a Terminal Server, Console Servers provide features such as convenient text menu systems, break-safe operation, port buffering (logging), RADIUS authentication and Secure Shell (SSH) access. Dial-up modem support ensures access when the network is not available.
We offer a complete line of products, ranging from basic console access to fault tolerant models for mission critical applications.

Multi-User Secure Console Servers
Lantronix Secure Console Servers provide unlimited access to remote network and telecom equipment, helping you maintain optimum system performance and availability.
Using your existing IP network or a single modem connection, Secure Console Servers provide remote access to data and voice equipment. All that is required is an available console or serial port on your equipment. Secure Console Servers are a flexible and powerful tool to manage devices such as: hubs, switches, routers, servers, UPS systems, PBX systems, and telecom switches.
Using In-Band management, you can manage your equipment over the network, from virtually any place you have access, using familiar tools like Telnet or Secure Shell (SSH).
Even if the network is down, Secure Console Servers have an Out-of-Band management feature that allows dial-in access through a modem connection. Where multiple pieces of equipment are installed, modem sharing allows you to realise a significant savings in installation and monthly operating costs.
Secure Console Servers ensure the integrity of your equipment and data through several measures. Authentication limits access to authorised users only, using usernames and passwords, modem dial-back, PAP/CHAP, Radius, Kerberos and SecurID. Authorisation restricts access to equipment and services, based on stored user profiles. Secure Shell (SSH) safeguards login passwords and in-transit data through strong encryption.
