EventSensor Type 2 Module Overview

Asentria Type 2 EventSensors are designed to work with Asentria SiteBoss and TeleBoss units by providing additional I/O points such as contact closures, analog measurement points and output relays, in addition to environmental monitoring capabilities like temperature and humidity monitoring.

Environmental monitoring equipment operation flowchart

Asentria Type 2 EventSensors interface with Asentria TeleBoss or SiteBoss units by way of a SensorJack port. Some Asentria base units feature a single “on-board” SensorJack connection, which can support up to 3 EventSensor modules. Other SiteBoss and TeleBoss units that feature Expansion Card slots can accept a card with 4 Port SensorJack ports, which can support up to 16 EventSensor modules. See the Asentria Expansion Card brochure for a description of the 4 Port SensorJack Card.

Environmental Monitoring Product Shot

EventSensors are referred to as “Type 2” because they are the 2nd generation of EventSensors. Asentria's original (Type 1) EventSensors were for use with our older SNMP-Link and Data-Link devices. Note: Type 2 EventSensors are not compatible with the earlier Type 1 EventSensors.

EVENTSENSOR TO UNIT CONNECTION

Type 2 EventSensors interface with the Asentria unit by way of (1) 8ft. 9 PIN MINI DIN/RJ-45 cable (available from Asentria-Product # 2060-066). This cable terminates in an RJ-45 plug and can be used in conjunction with existing RJ-45/RJ-45 cables and RJ-45 couplers to form multiple configuration and cabling options. In some cases, Type 1 EventSensors can connect with Asentria SiteBoss and TeleBoss units through the use of a Serial to ES Bus Adapter (Product # 2033-065). Not all configurations between Type 1 EventSensors and SiteBoss and TeleBoss units will be possible. Contact Sales for more information.
